We keep Sandcastle building gear for the young non swimmers at the beach area and there is also a shaded playground within sight of the beach area. For the sake of enjoying the natural, and peaceful surroundings, we appreciate that music, ie radios etc not be used at the beach.|
Loons and Bald Eagles are common, it is a treat when the otters come by to play!
Our nature trails wind their way through 18 acres of meadows, forest, wildflowers and changing scenery.
|While exploring you may pick wild raspberries for a pie, or morrel mushrooms for a gourmet treat, or you may catch a glimpse of||Older children quite enjoy the trails for biking, or evening games of capture the flag, and flashlight tag. For the teenagers, a Round Lake Resort hang-in movie night is fun. We bring a little TV/video down by the fire pit for the teenagers to enjoy a marshmallow and movie night.
|We maintain a large skating rink on the lake to enjoy through the day or by torchlight at night. There are two areas for tobogganing, and many guests use the lake or trails for x-country skiing. Our son likes to set up a jump and a board slide for snowboard on the steeper part of the toboggan hill. Ice fishing for trout on a beautiful sunny day, is really special, and makes for a tasty dinner! All the cottages will be decorated with lights and have an outdoor Christmas tree.||Many mornings you may see wildlife, a moose or deer wandering by your cabin windows. Snow conditions permitting, we can help you to arrange a horse drawn sleigh ride, across a pasture and through the woods and finishing off with coffee, hot chocolate and cookies around a large outdoor wood stove.|
|We are situated close to world class x-country ski areas, snowmobile areas, winter horseback riding, Hudsons Bay Mountain for downhill skiing and snowboarding, that many guests explore by day, and return back to the warmth of a nice dinner and fire in their cozy, winter ready cottage.|
